CMAA is an organization that aims to foster, assist, educate, and nurture professionals who lead the implementation of programs and projects in the construction industry. CMAA has several programs that offer pathways for early career professionals to become successful construction managers. Today, CMAA has more than 17,000 members with 26 regional chapters across the country.
With a decade of experience under his belt, Vennavelly's project portfolio spans an array of infrastructure ventures, including streets, roadways, drainage systems, highways, parks, and water and wastewater projects. Vennavelly is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and a holder of both the Project Management Professional and Certified Construction Manager designations.
Vennavelly's journey into the world of construction management began with an educational foundation. He pursued a Bachelor of Technology in civil engineering from India, followed by a Master of Science in construction management at University of Houston. His academic endeavors also led him to explore the realm of artificial intelligence, where he made significant contributions to a research paper aimed at enhancing the precision and efficiency of estimation methods for industrial projects through the utilization of neural networks.
Vennavelly's entry into the construction industry was as a Construction Inspector on a $25 million project involving a 120-inch sanitary sewer slip line. He quickly ascended the ranks to become a Construction Project Manager. Over the years, Vennavelly has been working with Ardurra’s construction management group and contributed to several projects in the Houston area.

One of Vennavelly's notable accomplishments was his role in the Levy Park project, which earned multiple awards, including the American Council of Engineering Companies' National Engineering Excellence award in 2018. Moreover, he led the construction management professional services team on the Memorial Park Central Connector (Land Bridge) project. This endeavor reconnected the north and south sides of the park through the creation of a land bridge over Memorial Drive, establishing a community space and enhancing recreational opportunities. This project received accolades such as the Best Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association.
Vennavelly also played a role in preparing the construction process manual for the Houston Public Works - Capital Projects.
