JACKSON, MS — Neel-Schaffer Geologist Krista Clark, RPG, was recently appointed by Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves to serve a four-year term on the Mississippi State Board of Registered Professional Geologists.

The six-member board oversees state-sponsored licensing, testing, and continuing education for Professional Geologists in Mississippi.

Clark is a Registered Professional Geologist (RPG) who joined Neel-Schaffer in 2010 and has more than 11 years of experience as an Environmental Geologist. Among her duties at Neel-Schaffer is the assessment and remediation of underground storage tanks. She also performs project management and field work for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, subsurface investigations, and remediation of groundwater contamination.

“Krista is a tremendous asset to Neel-Schaffer and our environmental services clients,” said Keith O’Keefe, PE, who manages Neel-Schaffer’s Central Mississippi operations. “She embodies the dedication, professionalism, and integrity for which Neel-Schaffer is known. We are very proud of Krista for being appointed to the Mississippi State Board of Registered Professional Geologists and thankful she chooses Neel-Schaffer to practice geology.”

“I’m happy to help in any way I can,” said Clark, who holds a Bachelor of Science in geology from Millsaps College. “I feel honored to have been appointed and have a lot of respect for the board members.”
