Arkansas Highway Commission Approves Bids for Improvements

LITTLE ROCK, AR — The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for improvements to roadways across Arkansas, according to Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) officials.

Cross County: The purpose of this project is to replace five bridge structures on State Highway 350 near Wynne. Robertson Contractors, Inc. was awarded the contract at $7,147,240.01. Completion is expected in early 2021.

St. Francis County: The purpose of this project is to replace two bridge structures on State Highways 50 and 79 over the Fifteenmile and Cut-off Bayous. Robertson Contractors, Inc. was awarded the contract at $7,043,344.90. Completion is expected in mid 2021.

Garland County: The purpose of this project is to construct 5.8 miles of new location on State Highway 7 between U.S. Highway 70 at Hot Springs and State Highway 7 North near Fountain Lake. McGeorge Contracting Company, Inc. was awarded the contract at $75,151,270.63. Completion is expected in early 2022. Another project in Garland County will construct and install a traffic signal at the intersection of U.S. Highway 270B and Lakeside Road in Hot Springs. L.E.G. Enterprises, Inc. was awarded the contract at $231,253.64. Completion is expected in late 2020.

Hot Spring County: The purpose of this project is to replace two bridge structures on State Highway 84 near Oak Grove. Crow Group, Inc. was awarded the contract at $1,472,300.21. Completion is expected in late 2020.

Union County: The purpose of this project is to replace one bridge structure on State Highway 335 over Haynes Creek, east of Norphlet. Thomco, Inc. was awarded the contract at $2,715,274.05. Completion is expected in late 2020.

Calhoun and Ouachita Counties: The purpose of this project is to replace a bridge structure on State Highway 274 over Two Bayou Creek, near East Camden. 1911 Construction Company, Inc. was awarded the contract at $1,544,862.80. Completion is expected in mid 2020.

Yell County: The purpose of this project is to improve the Liberty Road intersection, overlay and widen State Highway 27 between State Highway 10 and State Highway 7, west of Dardanelle. Blackstone Construction, LLC was awarded the contract at $7,264,731.40. Completion is expected in mid 2020.

Faulkner County: The purpose of this project is widening for dual left turn lanes, constructing a new exit ramp and reconstructing an entrance ramp at the intersection of Interstate 40 and U.S. Highway 65 in Conway. Rogers Group, Inc. was awarded the contract at $5,611,426.25. Completion is expected in late 2020.

Carroll and Madison Counties: The purpose of this project is to overlay 23.1 miles of selected sections of State Highway 23 between Huntsville and Eureka Springs. APAC-Central, Inc. was awarded the contract at $6,982,304.05. Completion is expected in late 2020. Another project in Madison County will replace a bridge structure on State Highway 74 over Pigeon Creek, east of the community of Wesley. APAC-Central, Inc. was awarded the contract at $1,441,077.36. Completion is expected in mid 2020.

Benton County: The purpose of this project is to construct a rural roundabout at the intersection of State Highway 12 and State Highway 43, south of Cherokee City. APAC-Central, Inc. was awarded the contract at $1,418,263.77. Completion is expected in late 2020.

Mississippi County: The purpose of this project is to replace one bridge structure on State Highway 312. Robertson Contractors, Inc. was awarded the contract at $1,146,395.69. Completion is expected in mid 2020.

Craighead County: The purpose of this project is to reconstruct and overlay five bridges and hydro-demolition four bridges on Interstate 555 between U.S. Highway 63B and State Highway 18 in Jonesboro. Koss Construction Company was awarded the contract at $33,837,374.87. Completion is expected in early 2021.

Crittenden and Poinsett Counties: The purpose of this project is to resurface 13 miles of Interstate 555 between Interstate 55 and Highway 149, south of Tyronza. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. was awarded the contract at $11,030,168.55. Completion is expected in mid 2020.
